OwlTerms of Service
What changed (2026-09-20): Section 1 now describes how OwlWatt monitors your system for both supported inverter brands (Enphase and SolarEdge), not just an on-site Enphase gateway.
These Terms govern your use of OwlWatt (the "Service"). OwlWatt is a service of SO Enterprising, LLC (a limited liability company, "SO Enterprising", "we", "our", or "us"), doing business as OwlWatt. By creating an account or installing the OwlWatt collector software, you agree to these Terms.
1. What we do
OwlWatt monitors your solar production, helps you compare it against your installer's promises, and produces audit-style reports. How we read your production data depends on your inverter brand and which collection method you choose: for Enphase systems, either directly from your inverter manufacturer's cloud API, or (if you use the optional OwlWatt Iris collector) from your local Enphase gateway on your home network; for SolarEdge systems, from your inverter manufacturer's cloud API. We are not a solar installer, electrician, utility, or financial advisor.
2. Your data
You own your solar production telemetry, contracts, and bills. We process them on your behalf to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for details on retention, sharing, and deletion.
3. Acceptable use
- Don't reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service.
- Don't upload someone else's contract or telemetry without authorization.
- Don't try to compromise other customers' accounts or our infrastructure.
4. Beta status
The Service is currently in preview. Features, pricing, and availability may change. Reports and savings estimates are informational and not legal, financial, or engineering advice.
5. Cancellation & account deletion
You can request account deletion from Settings → Account → Cancel account at any time. Your data is purged 90 days after the request unless you cancel.
6. Intellectual property
The OwlWatt name, owl logo, and all site content (including methodology documentation, report templates, and software) are © 2026 SO Enterprising, LLC and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any OwlWatt content without our prior written permission.
You retain full ownership of your own data: your solar production telemetry, uploaded contracts, utility bills, and any other data you submit to the Service. OwlWatt doesn't claim ownership of your data.
The OwlWatt methodology is documented publicly at owlwatt.com/methodology so that report findings can be audited and verified. Documentation access doesn't grant a license to reproduce or commercialize the methodology or reports.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. We disclaim all implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or (b) US$50.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms; we'll notify you by email when we do. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
