OwlWatt Iris, a reading that's yours

Iris is a small collector ($149 one-time, shipping included) that plugs into your router by Ethernet and reads your Enphase IQ Gateway on your own network, every 5 seconds, panel by panel. It sits alongside the vendor's cloud numbers rather than replacing them, so you're not leaning on one source for the whole story. Cloud-only, if you'd rather not plug anything in

Connect your existing Enphase account once and OwlWatt reads your production from there. No hardware, nothing to install. You still get the expected-production modeling, the shortfall documentation, and the claim-ready report.

Do I need the iOS app to use OwlWatt?

No. OwlWatt works entirely in your browser at owlwatt.com. The iOS app is an optional native wrapper that adds push notifications, a home screen icon, and a faster mobile experience. Your subscription covers both, no extra charge.

Does OwlWatt work with Enphase?

Yes. OwlWatt reads directly from your Enphase Enlighten account, or from a local OwlWatt Iris collector that reads your IQ Gateway every 5 seconds. You get per-microinverter production data, independent expected-production modeling, and documented shortfall reports, all in one place.

Does OwlWatt work with SolarEdge?

Not yet, SolarEdge support is on our roadmap. OwlWatt today connects directly to Enphase Enlighten and the Enphase IQ Gateway, and it works with any Enphase installation regardless of size, age or how many roof planes it spans. If you are on another system and you want independent production measurement, write to us anyway at [email protected] with your inverter make and model: where it is technically possible we will look at building a compatible path, and we will tell you plainly if it is not. What is the difference between the OwlWatt Iris and cloud-only collectors?

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription in the app or on owlwatt.com. On iOS, you can also cancel through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial periods, but you're never locked in.

Is my solar production data secure?

Yes. All data in transit is encrypted. OwlWatt never stores your Enphase password, your account connection is encrypted at rest. We don't sell or share your data with installers, manufacturers, or third parties.

What does a production guarantee shortfall actually mean?

Some solar installer contracts include a production guarantee, a promised number of kWh per year. Check yours carefully; not all contracts include one. If your system produces less than that, the contract typically specifies a remedy. OwlWatt documents the shortfall so you can act on it. OwlWatt computes expected production using NREL's published solar-production models, calibrated to your panel specs, tilt, and local weather, then compares that against actual inverter data to document any shortfall in dollars.

Does OwlWatt restore purchases on iOS?

Yes. If you reinstall the app or switch iPhones, tap Restore Purchases in Settings to relink your Apple subscription. If you subscribed on the web, sign in with the same email and your access is restored automatically, no Apple transaction needed.
