OwlWatt is an independent solar production-measurement service for residential homeowners. We read your inverter data, compare it against an independent pvlib model, and produce production guarantee claim documentation when your system underperforms. Full methodology is at /methodology. Standard pricing is $9.99/month or $87.89/year.
For the first 100 customers — and only the first 100 — we're offering lifetime access for a single one-time payment. Choose Founder Cloud-Only ($399) if you're happy monitoring through your inverter's cloud API, or Founder + Iris ($499) if you want the instrument that gives OwlWatt 5-second resolution and offline resilience — shipped to you and owned outright, not loaned (see the honest terms below).

The honest terms
- One-time payment — $399 cloud-only or $499 with Iris. Web/Stripe only — not available via in-app purchase.
- First 100 slots, shared across both tiers. When the 100th customer claims a slot, the offer closes. We won't extend it under another name.
- Founder + Iris: the collector is yours to keep. We ship a pre-configured Iris collector to your US address as part of the $499 tier. You own the device outright — it is not loaned.
- Founder Cloud-Only: no hardware. The $399 tier monitors via your inverter's cloud API; no device is shipped.
- Lifetime access survives feature additions. Anything we ship to the standard plan ships to you at no extra cost.
- If OwlWatt sunsets: if we shut down the service, the remaining value of your payment is refunded on a pro-rated basis calculated from purchase date. We're a real business with real obligations, not a hobby.
Why we're doing this
Why we're not doing AppSumo or a discount marketplace
The standard pattern at this stage is a lifetime deal on AppSumo — $99-$249 once, support the customer forever, take a 30% cut. We considered it and said no. Two reasons.
One: OwlWatt's whole positioning is the independent evidence layer for solar production guarantee disputes. Discount-marketplace customers come for the deal, not for the product. Wrong audience for what we're building.
Two: a random lifetime commitment to 100 strangers before we know what supporting them actually costs over ten years is reckless. The Founder Lifetime offer is sold at prices we can stand behind, and the +Iris tier ships a physical device we control — that keeps both sides honest.
